Process

Costing and costing systems are related directly to the bill of material and they evolve as the product is developed.
As the BOM gets updated, the system issues a related event to costing to update the cost for that particular product or component.
The pricing user logs into the system, clicks on the related event and the system takes him/her directly to the cost breakdown sheet where the update is needed.
The total cost gets updated in the system automatically and related users get a notification.
This procedure describes most of the events/ reactions on the PLM system.
